Maison France – ASSITEJ World Congress

 

WELCOME TO THE MAISON FRANCE !

The 20th ASSITEJ World Congress, originally planned last year in Japan, will be held from March 22 to 31. Due to the circumstances, the Congress and the Mirai festival in which it takes place will be held online. On this occasion, Scènes d’enfance – ASSITEJ France presents the Maison France, a virtual program designed to promote creation, French-foreign exchanges and research.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW 

  • “Salon Français”: Monday, March 22 at 8:00 AM GMT, in French with English translation, with the companies Spectabilis, Bakélite, Le Porte-Voix and Braz’Bazar.
  • SymposiumMonday, March 22 at 11:00 AM GMT, in French with English translation. A national strategy for cultural health: Promoting and sustaining the Child’s cultural and artistic awakening from birth to the age of 3, within the parents-child bond, with Sophie Marinopoulos. 
  • Shows: Abraz’ouverts (Braz’Bazar), Invaders (Bakelite), Boucle d’O (Le Porte-voix), The house of small cubes (Spectabilis – Official Selection).
  • Workshop : Sunday, March 28 at 8:00 AM GMT, in English. Improvisation at the heart of creation: accepting the unknown with the youngest, by Florence Goguel (Le Porte-voix company)

TICKETS

To access the events of the Maison France and the Congress, registration is required. If you want to attend one of the shows, seminars, conferences, workshops, symposia, panels, ceremonies or network meetings, go to www.assitejonline.org to create an account and buy a ticket or a pass (giving access to all the events).

Tickets will be available for purchase online in early March. The profits of the ticket sales will ensure the successful organisation of the Congress and the festival, and, in particular, the remuneration of the artists in the official selection, as well as that of the technical service providers.

MONDAY, MARCH 22 AT 8:00 AM GMT, in French with English translation

This panel discussion on the multidisciplinary nature of creation in France will be held with the artists taking part in the festival. It will be followed by a discussion with the audience. This event will also be an opportunity to present the participation of Scènes d’Enfance – ASSITEJ France to the Congress, as well as the application of France to host the ASSITEJ Artistic Gathering in 2025.

SYMPOSIUM ABOUT ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL AWAKENING FOR EARLY YEARS
MONDAY, MARCH 22 AT 11:00 AM GMT, in French with English translation 

To mark its English adaptation, Sophie Marinopoulos will present her report: A national strategy for cultural health: Promoting and sustaining the Child’s cultural and artistic awakening from birth to the age of 3, within the parents-child bond. A discussion time will follow her lecture.

Sophie Marinopoulos’ report has been translated and is being presented to the international young audience community in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture.

Braz’Bazar is located in Marseille and creates shows for young audiences that combine contemporary music, musical theater, Iranian rhythms and improvisation. Their show Abraz’ouverts is about encounter and separation, challenged by language and otherness.

Invaders – Bakélite company

Bakélite is an object theater company based in Rennes. With ordinary objects, it creates extraordinary events. Thanks to the object, there are no more limits and everything becomes possible on stage. In Invaders, little green men land on the planet… Beware: unidentified object theater!

Boucle d’O – Le Porte-voix company

Le Porte-voix uses voices, rhythms, movements and images to create musical theater shows for children. Through the symbol of water and the circle, Boucle d’O explores the cycle of life and the construction of identity.

The house of small cubes – Spectabilis company – MIRAI Festival Official Selection

Spectabilis, based in Maine-et-Loire, reaches out to everyone, creating shows for young people and the general public. The show The house of small cubes tells the story of a strange city by combining puppets, colorful shadows and object theater.

CANDIDACY OF FRANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF ASSITEJ ARTISTIC GATHERING IN 2025

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of ASSITEJ, France is applying to host the Artistic Gathering in 2025. Whether they take place at the Théâtre Massalia in Marseille or at the Festival Petits et grands in Nantes, this gathering will express inclusiveness, solidarity and sustainability through the diversity of its audience.
